The 18th Year (Updated)

My 18th birthday marks the coming-to-the-end of my teenage life significantly by celebrating this day, for the first time, without my family. It was unintentional. If not for Kor having an exam tonight, traditions will still be the same. Having a dinner together with my family. This year, I celebrated with Cheryl, as always, two days in advance. We were supposed to visit Sakae T3 because I’ve never eaten at a Sakae before. Too bad the waiting time was at LEAST an hour? So we went to Harry’s instead. They had all the sports channel and Kor was so glad because if we ate until past 10, he could catch the Man U match right there. Too bad for him, we LEFT at 10PM. Heh.

The birthday girls – Cheryl & I, plus Gladys

Some of the food we ordered

We then headed home to Cheryl’s place for cake-cutting and for Kor’s Man U match. This year’s birthday cake was different. No more fanciful chocolate cake or anything. Was just a simple Kueh Lapis from Begawang Solo. We got some strawberry chocolate and decorated the cake instead. It turned out pretty. 🙂

In the kitchen at work. Pretty innit?

The very next day, Papa brought us to Sakae for dinner! Finally! Oh and i think the mouse is super retarded as it is a shape of its iconic frog and the buttons are this eyes. Super gross yet tempting to just click/poke the eyes.

I LOVE Sashimi

School hours today was looong and this morning’s assembly was rather interesting. Right after the morning assembly the school conducted a college phototaking and the photographer snapped a few shots from the second floor with everyone having their thumbs up in the air. To me it was like some shoot for a persuasive advertisement. “Check out the people here! They’re all so happy and their thumbs up just so perfectly represent their feelings towards the school!” But well, I say it is an improvement to have such a united shot. Kinda first time in history in my two years of education here. Not bad. The photo-taking took some time and it was getting really warm with the morning sun peering in. So 224 girls did this:

Myself, Xinyi, Yingning, Charmaine A.K.A. Mainer and Cindy

Don’t ask me what’s Cindy looking at ’cause I don’t know either! Haha.

After all that heat was GP timed practice, AGAIN. Once we were done, Joash passed me this bag of stuff which contained weird straw like bag and I freaked out ’cause I thought there was some creature in it. Turned out it was a retarded yet really-appreciated-it present for me from the class guys! Man. It was a FARMER HAT, a TOILET BOWL SCRUB and a STRAW BAG to contain the items. They made me them on and pose outside the lecture theatre. My embarassing moment in school. (But still not the most embarassing moment of my day/life YET.)

Feeling so conscious of myself when schoolmates were walking past thinking that I was nuts

During music, sweet Audrey the Goat gave me a box of… SWEETS AND CHOCOLATES. Oh gosh… All the sugar and stuff. Haha but was really nice of her. The male species in my class just had to grab some and I gladly gave them. Heh.

Audrey the Goat is also my duet partner. She calls me Deer. (I think it all started ’cause my name is pronounced as Lee-DEER? And the goat name was started by her choir friends)

Thanks Yingning for her photography skils. She and mainer skipped Geography class and crashed Brahms Room! The music room you see, is only exclusive to music students and choir members so yeah. It’s quite a thrill for them to enter.

Anyway, meet my friend Thinesh who has the same interest as I do – insulting each other. Here we go again:

I’m trying to imitate his sharp indian nose while he is doing that typical chinese eyes

Xinyi, who is 224’s welfare rep, was so nice to get me a cake! It was green tea and redbean (something I don’t dislike especially in a cake but good thing it turned out not bad at all). It’s really rare for this welfare rep to be doing her job in buying a cake. (She’s a SLACKER!!! Oops!) So glad she got one for me this time! 😀

And the farmer hat was out again. Felicia, my class rep LOVES the hat. And yes, that’s Thinesh (bottom left photo) trying to insult me, again.

Since this week was the last week of school (YES imma graduate soon!), Mr Toh was really nice to conduct a session of just writing little words of appreciation on each other’s papers.

And yay! Finally the long awaited plan of the day! Celebration with RAYs! Earlier on I mentioned that the most embarassing moment wasn’t that. Now, THIS is the VERY MOST MOST MOST/ULTIMATE embarassing moment of my life. I can write a non-fictional primary school composition on it titled “The Most Embarassing Day of My Life”. The bunch of them were too nice to buy a super tight fitting pair of wings for me to wear on my shoulders (it’s even tight on Natalie!) with a golden mask that covered half my face (the mask was my shield from embarassment, thankfully – phew!) They made me put on those and parade from City Hall MRT all the way to Ms Clarity Cafe near NLB! Gosh! I wanted to like act as though I’m some nobody but I was wearing my school uniform! I kept comforting myself that these passerbys will only see me once in my life and they will never see me again. So just take this walk and hurry get to the cafe! Maaan. Thanks guys!

Jeanette, Myself and Nat

Finally reached my hiding place, free from embarassment,  who knows there were more to come. Jeanette takes out a set of Disney Princess disposable cutlery! They were beautiful but… AH… In the public?! Haha. Another thank you to you guys.

Reubs and his Snow White Straw. Really thankful for the guys to be so sporting in using the pinkly decorated stuff (except for Deebs who refused to use the Disney Princess cup!) No worries, I HOLD NO GRUDGE DEEBS!!! I HOLD NO GRUDGE!!!!!!!!!! Haha.

The reason I picked Ms Clarity Cafe to celebrate was the lovely decorated girly style the place had. Totally matched my pink cutlery huh. Anyway, check out the bottom left photo. There’s a pattern in the seating! Lady-Gent-Lady-Gent-Lady-Gent. That was why I took that photo actually. Heh. I love coincidences!

And… I pulled out my geek specs again! Xuan, Ah Lee and Jeanette. (Jeanette’s mouth were kinda weird here that’s why I covered them.)

Cheeky Natalie very innocently asked for Jeanette shawl and guess what. She’s like a potential kidnapper! She immediately blindfolded me and I just complemented her by adding on the mask infront.

The two fellows beside me (Nat and Shalyn) heartlessly pose when I’m all vulnerable and blind

From the smell of lit candles, it quickly occured to me that they were preparing a cake for me. Never did I expect it was baked by Jeanette! She’s too nice and shouldn’t have stay up the night baking which then lead to her truant behaviour – skipping school!

When it was time to blow the cake, it cost me like 10 000 000 breaths to blow the candles out! The candles were so mean! They were the sparks kind which will just relight upon extinguishing.

Just kept blowing… And blowing… AND blowing… But to no avail

My attempts had to be put to an end, NOT because I gave up, but it was causing all the smoke to choke up the cafe to the extent that the staff approached us. So yeah, last resort:

Dipping it into a Disney Princess cup of water

Not forgetting, the gifts! This hand-made first aid kit is from Jeanette and Ah Lee. Gosh, I don’t know whether to thank them or feel insulted. They gave me Disney Princess plaster, DIsney vitamin pills, Mopiko and Acne Cream. It’s ’cause I’ve been falling ill too often these two years of my college life already. Sorry but I can’t help it! I think it’s the stress!

Deebs, Shalyn, Myself, Nat, Reubs infront and Xuan, Jeanette, Ah Lee and JK behind

Journey back home on the train (tired faces)

I’m really thankful for today and had a really wonderful time celebrating with you guys! Really thankful for Jeanette for organising tonight’s celebration and all the whacky ideas of embarassing me in public. It was fun and thank you for taking your time to read this really lengthy post which is just about my 18th birthday.

Thanks guys! 😀 (Not in picture: Deebs & JK)

And thank you all for the lovely cards and presents. 🙂

From Shalyn: This apple pie has sentimental value okay. You can ask her.

Nat’s request: Another silly photo-story Nat and I did. 🙂

The Bitch and the Geek:
Once upon a time, there was a bitch who was exceedingly gorgeous and proud and bitchy. Hahaha.

Photobucket

There was also a geek who studied day and night…
Photobucket

One day, the geek saw beautiful princesses and yearned to be like one of them!
Photobucket

Coincidentally, she chanced upon a wand!
Photobucket

So, she decided to use some magic….

BibidibobodeeBOO!

The geek and the bitch swopped places!

And the bitch was depressed for life):

THE END.

Hoped you enjoyed it. Haha. 😀
