Proverbs 6:6-11

“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest- and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.”

Even the ant which is so tiny and insignificant knows the importance of putting in effort. Yes, laziness is sure enjoyable but it is only for that moment. Once you have decided to be back on the job or the situation, it may be too late and time will not turn back for you. So, never make compromises and give in to the slightest temptation. If not, each step into temptation will just get larger and easier. Before you realise, you are caught in a tangle. Therefore, work hard with strength deriving from God. Never rely on the flesh for it will one day give way to the daily temptations around.

Mmmm, I thought all sins were deadly when judged by God. Didn’t think there were some sins more alright than others….
